While the teaching experience highlighted in this portfolio spans over a decade, it was assembled during a one-year College Teaching Certificate program through the Trefny Center at the Colorado School of Mines. I completed the certificate while serving as the instructor of record for a 60-student undergraduate thermodynamics course. The opportunity to simultaneously engage in pedagogical training and apply those principles in real time was empowering.
I am especially grateful to Kira Marshall-McKelvey, Carter Moulton, and Brandon Reynolds of the Trefny Center for their tireless support and insightful feedback. Without their assistance, my perspective as an instructor would be much more limited and my tools less refined.
This portfolio is, and always will be, a work in progress. But I also see it as a foundation and starting point for a lifelong commitment to teaching to teaching. I strive to continuously refine my skills in pursuit of improved learning outcomes for my students.
